The Support Darfur Project aims to document ordinary people in their efforts to cope with the humanitarian crisis that has been unfolding in Sudan. We wish to document grassroots community-based efforts which are addressing the structural roots of injustice in Darfur and in other parts of the country, in order to leverage resources and support for them in the United States, particularly among members of the Sudanese diaspora. While support can sometimes mean funds more often than not it can also mean providing legal and media advocacy support, playing a connecting role to organizations on the ground and ultimately finding ways to allow people in Sudan to lead and guide the actions of those in the United States acting and advocating on their behalf.
